Pacific Helmets.

    Pacific Helmets.

Keeping international exporter Pacific Helmets competitive in the international market, requires plenty of innovative thinking.  Not only in the design of their safety equipment, but also in the way they get their product to market.  Based in Whanganui, export makes up 90% of their trade.

When it came to streamlining their production layout and maximising their current facilities, Production Manager Glen Spink called on the services of Duncan Sinclair at Black Pine Architects.

Working with local builder Geoff Davies Builders, Black Pine used some left-field thinking and innovative truss design to free up the factory floor.

Using twin parallel-chord trusses (they’re the ‘flat’ ones, not the ‘peaky’ type), a high-level walkway linking offices was created without any support posts to impede production layout.

This allowed Glen and his team to redesign their production processes for even better performance.  Nice work Pacific Helmets!
